Conclusion
Roxborough (19128), located in the Northwest section of Philadelphia, PA is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in the City. The population of Roxborough is mostly white with the majority of citizens aged 30-34. Roxborough offers garages, lawns, and other amenities of a small town but with the benefits of city living including Philadelphia public transportation. Another perk to Roxborough is the variety of eateries, retail stores, and other local businesses that line the main street, Ridge Avenue; however, this poses a safety risk for pedestrians and cyclists. After analyzing Roxborough’s health data along with other community problems, we concluded that pedestrian safety is the community’s priority problem. Although pedestrian safety is the priority problem, other health and safety issues still exist in the Roxborough community. Although Philadelphia County is notorious for its communicable morbidities like sexually transmitted infections, the citizens of Roxborough are more affected by non-communicable morbidities like hypertension and obesity. In addition, environmental issues and lack of insurance affect the citizens of Roxborough.
